Incorporation Feasibility Study
The Incorporation Feasibility Study Subcommittee members are Jeff Conwell, Gerry Ustanik, and Brian Patterson. They make monthly reports at each Manson Community Council Meeting. The Manson Community Council neither favors, nor disfavors possible Incorporation. With expected growth, we feel it is imperative that we study this option.
The Incorporation Feasibility Subcommittee met with the City of Entiat Mayor Renee Swearingen, two city council members, the city treasurer, and five public works employees in early December. The City of Entiat was incorporated in 1944.
Jeff Conwell stated that they gave us a lot of information. They gave us copies of all of their contracts and a copy of the 2025 and 2026 budget. They were extremely helpful, and said if we needed anything else, just let them now. They genuinely wanted to help us.
Jeff said that Manson’s tax base would be three times that of Entiat. They have five public works employees. They collaborate with other Entiat entities (like their school district) to share equipment like air compressors and plows. Entiat budgets for .6 of a deputy for public safety.
Coming up the first or second week in January, the subcommittee has the opportunity to meet with the City of Cashmere Mayor Jim Fletcher.
